We have had the most wonderful time celebrating each and every one of our children’s successes and all that they have achieved at The Flower Cottage over the last three years. As we approach the final few weeks before they embark on their new journey at school, we are preparing for one final emotional goodbye.

Although today has been emotional, it was incredible to watch the children enjoy themselves amidst the fantastic soft play setup, interact with beautiful princesses, and delight in story time and the snow machine. The day was filled with handing out graduation certificates, exciting face painting and glitter tattoos, delicious food, and receiving thoughtful gifts and learning journeys to be treasured forever. We also came together as a group to present thank you gifts to The Flower Cottage staff for their time, dedication, and efforts in supporting the children’s learning and development. Your feedback forms brought on the waterworks this afternoon, so thank you for that!

We love you all very much, and you will always be part of our family. Special thanks to the fantastic businesses and organisations that made this day perfect. Thank you so much!

The Flower Cottage turned 3 years old!

The Flower Cottage turned 'Three', we had the best day ever celebrating at Play-Tropolis for the third year running.

We had a fabulous time with all of our families! 

We are really lucky to spend our business birthday's in the most wonderful place and loveliest staff. Ms Rachel even made an appearance too, how exciting!

Business and community defib fundraiser - Easter 2025

Raising money for a defibrillator has always been a dream of mine, and losing a parent makes this even more important to me. I have always wanted to fundraise for a special cause, raise awareness of the importance of defibrillators, and illustrate their massive impact on lives by sharing my own experiences. When I was a little girl, raising money for a defibrillator for both the setting and public use has been a heartfelt mission.

Being able to make the final purchase of our defibrillator was a deeply touching personal achievement. Sadly, I lost my dad to cardiac arrest when I was just 10 years old, and there was no defibrillator in sight. I often wonder if having one could have saved his life and allowed him to see my business grow and flourish. I will never know. The thought of another family experiencing the same heartbreak because a defibrillator couldn't be located is devastating.

This year, I hosted another fundraiser: The Flower Cottage Easter Fundraiser 2025. It was a party with the one and only Easter bunny, complete with entertainment and games. There were various stalls offering beautiful Easter-themed products from wonderful small businesses, including delicious bakes, sweets, crafts, wreaths, greeting cards, and a toy sale! We also had face painting, glitter tattoos, food, and ice cream vans.

We held a raffle with a bouquet-style prize consisting of cash, scratch cards, vouchers, fizz, and chocolate treats, with tickets priced at just £1 each. The event was filled with Easter fun for all!

I am overwhelmed by the incredible turnout and support. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this achievement possible in such a short time. A special thanks to those who joined in with donations, provided their own stalls, and helped during the hectic morning of the fundraiser.

A heartfelt thank you to all, and your names will be placed on our memorial plaque. We raised another £170 at the fundraiser event, bringing our final total to an incredible £1,386! I am pleased to confirm that both the British Heart Foundation and London Hearts have now received their split funds of £359 each from the additional money raised.

I have contacted both winners, and they are thrilled with their raffle prizes. The feedback from the event has been overwhelmingly wonderful, not just about the event but also about my childminding job and the things I do. I am deeply grateful for the support and the turnout.

'Baby and Me' Christmas fundraiser event 2024 

I am delighted to share that our 'Baby and Me' event on Saturday, 15th December 2024, was a resounding success. We transformed our role-play and sensory cabin into a magical grotto and, through a series of raffles and events hosted at The Flower Cottage, raised an impressive £332 for Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity. I personally covered the costs for all the food, decorations, presents, and extras for the fundraiser, completely transforming the cabin.

My goal was to provide families with a few hours of festive enjoyment with their babies while making a significant impact on a worthy cause. I am immensely grateful to everyone who supported this event, especially the wonderful girls who stepped in to help, and to my amazing partner, Joe, for playing Santa Claus for the second year in a row. The preparation was extensive, but the event was truly incredible.

Black Country Food Bank

Every year The Flower Cottage families support Black Country Food Bank by donating lots of unwanted and unused food items. We donate this during the harvest festival period, we drive to the food bank and have our photo took in front of the sign and we kindly receive a lovely certificate to keep!

Graduation party 2024

The Flower Cottage Graduation Party 2024 with a Hawaiian twist was a resounding success! We had a wonderful morning celebrating all of our children's incredible achievements for the year. We also celebrated one of our children making an exciting transition to school in September. We made our own graduation party hats and enjoyed some lovely surprises throughout the event.

A big thank you to Zoe for arranging our gorgeous sign and balloon decor for photographs. Another big thank you to E&L Events for our balloon table decorations and buffet. I wish I had a picture of the whole buffet; I only managed to get a partial one! The food was great, with an amazing children's buffet option, tea, coffee, and juice readily available.

A massive thank you to Mad House Mascots once again for a fantastic Paw Patrol party; the children loved it. Another huge thank you to our wonderful Naomi from Moo Music Dudley, Sedgley, and Tipton for a fantastic session as always, a brilliant end to our party. Thank you, Lynne, for making our graduation tops, caps, and gowns! All personalised gift bags and 2024 gifts were ordered from Etsy.

And lastly, but most importantly, thank you to all our wonderful families for coming along to our special party.

It is a wonderful place, we are lucky to have spent our second birthday with them! 

Our Easter Party 2024!

Happy Easter, everyone! I'm thrilled to say that the children absolutely loved the Easter Bunny's visit today! We had an amazing party, hosted by the lovely Frankie and the Easter Bunny. Frankie, who also hosted our graduation party with Bluey and Bingo, did a fantastic job once again. It was wonderful to see you all again. We had a great time dancing, playing games, and winning some exciting prizes. The children especially enjoyed the big cuddles and high-fives from the Easter Bunny, which really kicked off our Easter bank holiday weekend in style! A huge thank you to Mad House Mascots for making it such a memorable event.

We had BLUEY and BINGO join us with a fantastic host, food and drinks prepared and served by my lovely mum and a disco dome hired by Castle Corner. Our whole day was so so special and one that I will never forget.
