Learn, Sip & Connect
Coming soon for families who attend The Flower Cottage.
I’m excited to announce the launch of our Learn, Sip & Connect workshops - an initiative designed to bring our families together through engaging sessions each term. These workshops are not only an opportunity to learn from experts like Emily from Mini Dreamers Sleep and the Dudley Community First Responders, but also a chance to foster meaningful connections in a relaxed setting.
Held at The Flower Cottage, these events are completely free and open to all families whose child currently attends the setting.
To make your experience even more enjoyable, I’ll be providing tea, coffee, water, juice, and a selection of snacks and biscuits. My intention is to create a welcoming, inclusive space where we can support each other, exchange ideas, and build lasting relationships.
If you have any questions or thoughts, please feel free to send me a private message by clicking on the contact button or using the social icons to reach me VIA Facebook or Instagram.
I look forward to seeing you there and sharing this journey together!
Our first workshop with Emily from Minidreamerssleep
Our very first family workshop was such a lovely and meaningful experience
We had the pleasure of welcoming Emily from Mini Dreamers Sleep, who shared so many valuable, practical, and insightful tips to help support children’s routines, both at home and within our setting. It was a relaxed and supportive session where families could ask questions, share experiences, and feel reassured in their approaches.
From understanding sleep cues to building consistent, gentle routines, there was so much to take away. Each family also received access to a helpful support pack via QR code, filled with guidance and resources to continue implementing what they learned at home.
We also made sure everyone felt comfortable and welcome with a selection of hot and cold drinks, along with some yummy snacks to enjoy throughout the session
We’re so grateful to Emily for her warmth and expertise, and to all the families who joined us and made the session so special. We can’t wait to host more workshops like this in the future.
CPR and First Aid Workshop with Dudley CFRs
We had a fantastic afternoon welcoming Stu from Dudley CFRs, who delivered an incredibly informative and engaging workshop for our families all about baby, child and adult first aid and CPR.
Dudley CFRs (Community First Responders) are dedicated volunteers who work alongside the ambulance service, responding to emergency calls within the local community and providing vital care and support before an ambulance arrives. Their work truly makes a difference and helps save lives every single day.
Throughout the session, parents and carers had the opportunity to learn essential life-saving skills through a detailed PowerPoint presentation, practical demonstrations, and hands-on activities. There were lots of fantastic questions asked, and Stu shared so much valuable knowledge, advice and reassurance in a way that was easy to understand and incredibly supportive. We also enjoyed snacks and drinks and had a lovely catch-up with our parents during the afternoon. We would also like to thank our parents for giving up their time to be involved in another workshop at The Flower Cottage, we hope this session was valuable and informative for everyone who attended.
We are so grateful to Stu for giving up part of his bank holiday weekend to spend time with us and help our families feel more confident in dealing with emergency situations. It was such a worthwhile and empowering experience for everyone involved.
Thank you again for everything you do within our community. We hope our donation helps support the amazing work carried out by Dudley CFRs.
Good luck with your sponsored walk - we’ll all be cheering you on!
