Our Community Defibrillator
In February 2025, we began fundraising to purchase our own defibrillator for use by both The Flower Cottage and our local community. We are incredibly proud to have been able to make this important resource available, and we would like to thank everyone who supported our fundraising journey.

Initially, we planned to install the defibrillator outside our setting and family home so that it could be accessed easily by members of the public, as well as being readily available to us when needed. However, after carefully considering the advantages and potential risks, we felt that the possibility of vandalism was too great. We therefore made the decision to keep the defibrillator securely indoors while ensuring that it remains accessible to the community in an emergency.
Our defibrillator is now securely mounted in its wall caddy in the welcome area at The Flower Cottage. The battery has been installed, all necessary checks and tests have been completed, and the defibrillator is fully operational and ready for use should it ever be required.
Accessing the Defibrillator in an Emergency
If there is a public emergency in the local area where a defibrillator is required, please press the blue LED button on the electric gates outside The Flower Cottage. We will respond promptly and bring the defibrillator to you.
Our defibrillator is also registered on Defib Finder, allowing members of the community and emergency services to locate it. You can search for it by entering our postcode - DY2 7TQ and the name The Flower Cottage.
We hope that our defibrillator will never need to be used, but having one available could make a vital difference in an emergency. We are proud to support the safety and well-being of our local community.
